Let Us Handle R&D through Manufacturing
With your fixture and specifications for lumen output, wattage, optical distribution, and color temperature, our team of engineers and designers will develop a custom solution to meet your requirements.
We use our proprietary LED boards and optics in our designs, so there are no expensive tooling costs involved, but we can also tool custom solutions if required. All designs are prototypes and thoroughly tested to validate the performance meets or exceeds our engineering standards and your expectations. Optional add-on components are available, such as 480V, battery backup, or occupancy sensing or controls. Once complete, you receive a working prototype, detailed assembly illustrations, and field installation instructions if needed. All manufacturing of prototype and production kits occur at our facility in Farmington Hills, MI, and comes with a 10-year performance warranty. Not sure how to navigate UL safety certification, LM-79 testing, DLC listing, or IDA certifications? Let us help you finish the project by handling all third-party testing and certification submissions on your behalf.

Our Process
We are Hands On from start to finish. To start the process, we provide an estimated quote that includes the cost of design, prototyping, and total cost per unit. Once we have reviewed all requirements and detailed customization, our specialist will create a 3D prototype and perform thorough testing to meet our warranty standards. When all needs, customization and requirements are fulfilled, we make sure to include detailed instructions for ease of installation. Even after delivery, you can depend on Polarity for service and support.
Evaluation
Polarity receives OEM’s Fixture and we begin our detailed technical evaluation process.
• Create a CAD model of the OEM fixture. • Develop a light engine solution in CAD. • Manufacture a light engine prototype. |
Testing
Thorough testing of prototype light engine to meet our 10-year warranty standards.
• A technician checks the fit and inspects ease of installation. • Perform in-situ thermal testing to validate performance to OEM requirements and 10-year lifetime rating. |
Delivery
To insure ease of an independent installation, we include a prototype and detailed instructions.
• Create detailed spec sheet, factory assembly instructions, and field installation instructions. • Return fixture with prototype installed. |
